Another centenarian has been added to the municipality as Ms. Purificacion Abuan Andrada of Barangay Calumbaya, Bauang, La Union reached her 100th birthday recently. Andrada received Php30,000.00 cash from the local government of Bauang.

Being a centenarian, Andrada will also receive a centenarian gift amounting to Php100,000.00 pursuant to the Centenarian Act of 2016. Aside from such incentive, senior citizens 100 years old and above shall be accommodated, treated, and cared for , free of charge in all district hospitals owned and operated by the Provincial Government of La Union as stipulated in the Provincial Ordinance No. 110-2017.
